FEP ( Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene)
PTFE and FEP are similar in their material properties. The main difference between PTFE and FEP lies in the maximum operating temperature and the colour. PTFE is milky/white and FEP is clear transparent.
Properties:
• Lower melting temperature than PTFE
• More flexible than PTFE
• Transparent/clear
• Low dielectric constant (insulating)
• Chemically inert
• Very low co-efficient of friction
• Antistick properties
• UV resistant (does not age)
• Not hygroscopic (water absorption <0.01%)
• FDA approved
• Working temperature from -200°C to +205°C
FEP is more difficult to print than our Fluorinar-PVDF.
YOu need high temperatures: 320-380ºC and heated bed ± 160ºC and closed printer.
Ventilation is very important
Alternatif for FEP:
Fluorinar-PVDF-C easy to print (±250ºC) on any 3d printer with a heated bed; no warping.
Nozzle | 320ºC - 380ºC |
